Jack
Lorski was born on March 10th, 1960 in Paris.
After a literature-based baccalauréat at
the Lycée Montaigne he went on to study
journalism at the Sorbonne, followed by
specialist media training at the INA. At
the age of 25, he launched his career as
a journalist, setting off into the field
with his camera slung over his shoulder.
For 5 years (from 1985 to 1990) he covered
the conflicts in Lebanon as a special reporter
for the British daily "International". He
won professional recognition with his at
times disconcerting articles for the current-affairs
magazine "WTE".
During the 1990s, he covered the main hotspots
(Iraq, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Kosovo) as chief
reporter. He became known for the frequently
unorthodox slant to his reports, and uncovered
a number of sensitive affairs (particularly
the traffic in human organs implicating
MP Kourievski). After 1999 he moved on from
the written press to camera journalism.
He made several documentaries about the
United States, notably "Crime in America".
He joined SKL Network in 2001 as a permanent
staff member specializing in real-life dramas
and social issues, such as the documentary
currently available on our site: "Sects
- the Hidden Menace".
